Reading Lacan’s Clinical Cases

Reading Lacan’s Clinical Cases

0.00 - 80.00
Reading Lacan is intended to be close to the experience of analysis: confusion, tolerating not knowing, the testing of one's narcissism, moments of surprise, elements that return at other times in new ways, flashes of brilliant insight, and the accrual of another kind of knowledge, a knowledge that allows us to hear differently, especially language and subjective structures. Importantly, this is not a project that can be undertaken alone, much as analysis is not a solitary enterprise. It requires reading, discussion, instruction, repetition and desire. This course is designed to introduce participants to reading Lacan clinically, and using his thinking to think through clinical conundrums, events, and session material to see how the act of reading and clinical thinking are linked in an immediate sense. The instructor will select several pieces of text, bring clinical material, and engage in discussion with the audience about what it brings up in their own practice.
